About PSCU Co-operative Society Limited

PSCU came into existence 42 years ago, when it registered for business in December 14th, 1966.

The Credit Union was founded by the late Mr. James Manswell, and the late Mr. Marshall Escagy. Founding members include Mr. Fitzroy Dyer, and the Late Mr. Atwell Cooper.
At that time its membership was limited to persons in the public sector. 109 of these persons had originally formed themselves into a thrift club and it is this thrift club which became where is now PSCU, with a membership of over 16,000 members.

The membership now comprises individuals from all walks of society and not solely the public sector.

The Credit Union has evolved over the 42 years of existence. At inception it was housed at #91 Abercomby Street. As the institution expanded it was relocated to #71 Pembroke Street, then to # 57-59 Dundonald Street. Subsequently PSCU relocated to rented premises at # 68-70 Sackville Street.

The Credit Union has recently relocated to it's own premises, #24 Sackville Street, Port of Spain Trinidad.

In response to its growing membership throughout Trinidad and Tobago, PSCU opened branches in different locations:

Tobago Branch 1986
San Fernando Branch 1990
Arima Branch 1992

As the external environment changed PSCU further responded to the changes by first changing its name to Public Service Association Credit Union and later to PSCU. Given its strategic intent to be all embracing, the Credit Union is commonly referred to as PSCU.
